Congratulations to Brandon Farmer from Charlotte NC who has posted the 1,000,000th post on AR.
Brandon may have never known if it weren't for the first comment posted by Michael Thornton. Nice Mike :)
Here's the Official 1,000,000th post on ActiveRain: Charlottes-Positive-Market-Indicators
We have been waiting and watching patiently for this day and just wondering who it would actually be?

Jay Thompson wrote the very first Blog post on AR back on 06/25/2006. Then 140,501 ActiveRain Members joined the community, followed Jay's lead, and together, have helped build this Network with enough content to reach this goal today.
How exciting to hit yet another milestone with ActiveRain and it's members. This has never been done before or accomplished by any other Real Estate Network to the best of my knowledge. So again, Congratulations to Brandon, and to ActiveRain and its members for making a permanent mark in the history books of ActiveRain, and the Real Estate Industry. This is truly an incredible accomplishment!

Wow! This has been an exciting journey, and we're just getting started!

Congrats Brandon on the momentous post.
You said
"Jay Thompson wrote the very first Blog post on AR back on 06/25/2006."
Michael's post said that Brett Tousley's post was the first.
Posted by Brett Tousley | Tacoma WA Real Estate | (253) 820-2745 on 06/25/2006 02:14 PM
Maureen - I did say "First Blog Post!" Now if you're looking for the first "solo" link ever posted, then Brett Tousley would be your man! :-))
Is placing a single link on a post a true "Blog Post?" So for the record, Jay Thompson DID write the first Blog Post on ActiveRain. BTW - Michael who?
Mike - thanks for the "Up Early" email this morning. Though I'm going back to bed now, just want you to know you made my day! :-)
Congratulations Brandon Farmer, and Activerain. It's great to see a Carolina Boy up there!
I sat by my computer waiting for ActiveRain history to happen. Thanks for the recognition.
Brad, I am with Maureen. Unless there is something in your servers that is not available to the public, I could only trace back down to #8 which was a test blog by Ben Wisely showing some sql code on how to querry data. I could not find #9, but Ben, made comment that Brett was the first to post even though they had just launched a few minutes earlier. It would be great if you could shed more light on this as I think that it would be great to know a little more history on the beginnings of ActiveRain...
your building consultant for life in Nashville, TN
wow - 1,000,000 and counting - prety impressive for AR
It has been a fun and productive ride.....I wasn't here at the very beginning but started in February 2007......thanks for everything......
What a milestone. I'm glad to be a tiny part of it all. Looking forward to the next million.
Lots of google juice and relative content here. We have done a great job in building the biggest baddest network for our profession in history.
"BTW - Who Is Michael??"
Michael Thornton.
Brad, After this million dollar, I mean million blog post, you deserve to go back to sleep. Look forward to many more AR milestones to make your day.
Maureen, I wrote a post on this minutes after it happened... http://activerain.com/blogsview/1000026/1-Million-and-Counting...
your building consultant for life in Nashville, TN
Congratulations to everyone. 1 million posts is a great accomplishment. Looking forward to celebrating the second million.
Great work everyone. Active Rain like our own lives are the results of all our efforts, our mistakes and our triumphs. Don't be afraid to post newbies and keep trying until you find your nitch.
Congrats to Brandon and AR and the whole community !! ....
But, where can I look on the screen to see the total number of posts in the system? I've spent a couple minutes clicking around, and so far haven't seen it.
Congrats to AR.....I'm sure another mil will come even sooner.
Cheryl, when you click on a post, look in the header bar for the following: http://activerain.com/blogsview/1001018/... The number between the / / is the blog post #. I hope this helps...
Michael ...........Awwww, maaaan, there it is right there.
The significance of that number never once crossed my mind....
I just went back and looked at my first post ever. It's #152. :-)
That's really cool. like walking into the supermarket and the confetti flies! Here is to millions and more in the future! I have only posted 65 so I guess I better get busy!
Brad... How great is that, I had to get in on the historical benchmark and post a response on this blog for posterity. Steve
All I can say is that I'm happy to be a part of this great group. This is only the beginning. I have no Idea where we're going. I do know for sure, I'm going with it!
Sounds like a nice piece of history Brad. It is amazing looking back at all the changes since the beginning.
Woo hoo ! That is awesome Brad. Certainly a lot of blog posts which includes a TON of information. All the info a professional or a consumer would need would be right here in Active Rain !
How cool. What does he win? It reminds me of those old "you are the millionth shopper" storylines on sitcoms. They always won something.
Funny the server doesnt crash more. I am pursuing #500 for me in a couple weeks.
Funny the server doesnt crash more. I am pursuing #500 for me in a couple weeks.
Wow Cheryl you are an old timer (on ActiveRain)... my first post was number 3767
Congratulations to Brandon! Brandon, I don't know how many posts I've written but I'm going to check after I comment to you. No surprise that a Carolina Man hit the mark! I'm proud to be from Carolina and proud of you and Active Rain. Maybe I'll write the #2million blog.
Congratulations to AR! How wonderful that the millionth post was from a new member!
Brad and the rest of the AR gods, thank you for all you do!
Now, what would be cool would be to know the dollar value of income earned as a result of a blog post on AR...bet the number would be up there. I have made my share...
VERY COOL Brad... that is a ton of valuable input by the AR Memebers ...
Big CONGRATS to AR and the members....next stop 10,000,000 :-)
@Maureen ... I just didn't realize how OLD of an Old Timer I actually was..... :-)
Hey, wouldn't it be a trip to make a list of, say, the first 100 posts.....
1,000,000 - ONE MILLION - - - That is a BIG number! Congrats to Brandon, Activerain, and everyone who contributed by posting the first 999,999 posts.
I think what is amazing is that this was done in less than 3 years and when you look at how fast AR is growing, it certainly won't take even that long to hit 2,000,000.
All this information out there on the web. Congratulations Active Rainers!!!
Congratulation to Active Rain, a big Yahooeee for the staff and Guru's who keep it running night and day, a Big YEHAWW for all my fellow Rainers who make it work with all their thoughts and comments and glorious posts day after day. HOORAY for ActiveRain, Congratulations to Brandon!
Congratulations to Brandon and to ActiveRain for reaching yet another milestone!
Look how big this baby has grown!
Wow, 1,000,000 posts! That is quite an accomplishment for the ActiveRain network. Congratulations, and looking forward to many more. Thanks ActiveRain!
CONGRATULATIONS ACTIVE RAIN! Hmmmmmm 1,000,000 posts.... that adds up to about an average of 7.11 posts per member if calculated from the current 140501 members counted today!
Diane Rice
I'm sure the next million will only take half the time. As ActiveRain grows by leaps and bounds, I think we'll find that it is changing the way we do business, more than we may even be willing to admit...and it's a good thing!
Congratulations Brandon for being the lucky featured 1,000,000 blog post! How exciting for Active Rain! I am so happy to be a part of it!
Brad - Congrats nice to Brandon! Wow! It's pouring in the Rain now! Got to go work on the 1,000,001th post now. lol
Congrats again Brandon. Your now in the history books!
Question is: If there are now over 1,000,000 posts on AR, then how many comments are there here? :-O
Michael - To answer your question, i was told that Jay wrote the first post on AR. I have seen the post by Brett too, but it wasn't really a post, just a hyper link to his website. No content, so technically, he did post something a few hours before Jay, but I wouldn't consider that a Blog post and I guess AR didn't either. Who knows?
I think any posting or testing done prior to that by Ben or any of the others, may have been just that...testing. Jay has been crowned with this honor since I've been here at AR, so I couldn't really tell you any different, sorry.
But we digress.... Kudos today go to Brandon and to EVERY member on ActiveRain, because without every single contribution, this could have never happened. Awesome work and Congrats to the entire combined community, Brandon just happened to be the lucky member to click the "submit" button at the right time and from the right place! :-)
IT's CELEBRATION TIME!! - I'm going golfing now to do my celebrating. Maybe I'll lose my 1,000,000th ball today. haha~
Brad: This is a HUGE achievement here in the rain... Congratulations to Brandon. Did Brandon get a GOLD STAR ?
That's a lot of writing . . congrats AR
Brad,
1,000,000th post! That is a cause for a huge celebration in AR. Brandon congratulations! Also congratulations to all contributing AR members. Now onward to our second Mil.
Brad - what am amazing journey this has been. Wonder if we will hit that 2 millionth post in less time?
Congratulations to Brandon, who, I'm sure, planned it all this way. LOL
Jeff
Congratulations to AR and to Brandon. Now the real question is did Brandon win anything?????
Holy COW!!!! Congrat's to BRANDON! And to ACTIVERAIN, of course. Did he at least WIN a $1,000,000? Should have. :)
CONGRAT'S BRANDON!!!! And many, many more post from you!
Congratulations Brandon!
And Congratulations to ActiveRain!
Quite a milestone to say the least. But it IS all about community. Maybe not in a traditional way, but we are a community nonetheless.
I guess now we can start the road to two million. Congrats to AR on the milestone.
Congratulations AR and Brandon, what a milestone. Like you said Brad, the amount of information in these blogs is mind boggling.
Brad - I bet we hit 2,000,000 very quickly compared to the first million.
Wow, how exciting! Congratulations to everyone, the AR powers that be - you must be so excited, Brandon for being the millionth post poster, all of the rest of us bloggers for helping to boost the numbers, and to all the visitors who get to enjoy all this content every day!!!
I think Scott Daniels has the highest number of posts contributed on AR, does anyone know of a member who has more?
At this rate, my guess is we will hit 2,000,000 posts in half the time or less. :-)
Cool, Brad. Now, let's see how long it will take until we hit 2,000,000. I can't wait to see that one!
That's a big library of resources to sharpen our skills with!
CONGRATS and THANKS to AR for creating this forum. Brandon you are just the big lucky #1,000,000... and it is driving people over to your blog today. I hope you are being profound.
Wow. Congrats Jon!
Craig - You are the total Bomb!! I love it! Can I add it to this post? Please? :-))))
I don't know if my first post here was really the "real" first post or not. Doesn't matter and it's not really the point.
Wow, a million posts. I remember when there were no blogs on AR. No forums. No nothing. All you could do was invite people. I also remember when the first person got to 5,000 points and some guy whined that the early adopters had an unfair advantage and no one would ever make it to 10,000.
Things have sure changed since then!
I rarely post here anymore as my blog and a couple others I contribute to keep me busy. But I pop in every now and then just to see what's happening. I've met some wonderful people through this network and wish AR and its members continued success!
Hi Brad~ Congrats to Brandon! I also think that all of us as a group are awesome! I am thankful this forum is here. It is the best thing since sliced bread, LOL!
Ben - I think your test post was really one of the first on AR?
Can you confirm that AR history lesson for us?
Much of what we have today is also thanks to you my friend.
Congrats to you as well. :-)
Wow!! that's a ton of posts - Congrats to you & everyone @ AR!!
Yeah - I was the first poster, first user, first most things since I was q/a and dev back then. But the first real user post was Brett I think. I'm over at a poker company now if anyone's interested... hacking on http://deucescracked.com - working Ballard living on my sailboat.
I had no idea I was the 1,000,000 post until reading all of these comments. Pretty cool and very lucky. Im headed to buy a powerball ticket. Keep blogging!
Did any virtual balloons and glitter fall a'top Brandon's head when the magic number was hit? HA HA
1,000,000 blogs posts . . . you don't say!!!
Hey WIKIPEDIA . . . suck on that!
1 million...wow...don't want to think about how many comments...make a contest about that one :)
Congratulations Activerain!!
That sure is a lot of reading ;) Amazing how we've grown, and like others have said it's been quite a journey ;) Bet Brandon is happy, as he now has the distinction of hitting a big milestone :)
Congratulations Brandon!
...your photo should "magically" start appearing in your comments soon
Wow, being new to AR, this shows just how big this network is.
Brandon:
Congratulations. Keep coming back we need people like you here.
Social networking has come so far in such a short space of time. Today my job was nudging another member to start his blog with AR. 2,000,000 will be a breeze compared the first!
What a great milestone for all of us. Brandon, received some very nice prizes, esp the 140, 501 New Friends....
Boy, 1,000,000 posts. Thats a crazy number.
If I had known we would get all these cool gifts, maybe I would have held out and timed it just right. LOL
Brad, I had so much fun reading about this and all the comments. A huge congratulations to Brandon. It's amazing how this community has grown and continues to every single day!
Congratulations on the feature and on the 1,000,000 post.
Nice number. :)
Brad, I think Jay deserves a feature too, for starting it all. :)
(I left the message on Jay's blog, but wasn't signed in...ooops)
CONGRATS Brandon .... a major accomplishment!
Brad - I think he deserves 10% of the 1,000,000 posts. So, how about 100,000 points?
Wow! Amazing Brad! Contrats to you!
Thanks to Michael and Cheryl's conversation, I discovered my first post was #806....and I began on July 13, 2006....very cool. I love info like that. Congrats to the million post winner. ;-)
Congratulations Brandon and congratulations AR! We plan on being 2 Million!
Mary
Congratulations! What an awesome milestone!
Did I miss a pool? Weren't we supposed to have a pool on the day and time of the 1,000,000th post?
Wow, I had no idea we were anywhere near that number. Incredible.
Amazing - active rain has certainly boosted my business. I'm thrilled to be a part of history.
Indeed a milestone in the history of real estate social media.
Congratulations to everyone. 1 million posts is a great accomplishment.
Stefan
This sure is an impressive milestone! It won't take anywhere near as long to reach 2,000,000 postings!
1 million posts and all the new great stuff that AR is doing for its bloggers. The entire AR community deserves a huge ATTA BOY
Nice gesture to give him those goodies Brad. Keep up the great work.
Brad,
Congratulations to you, the AR team and all the contributing members of AR! It is a joy to be part of this great community. The hundreds of thousands of dots in your Cluster Map is a testament to the tremendous online presence AR has in the US (including Red Lodge, MT, population: 2,455 as of August 2008) and the world!
Wow. Does this mean my blog is even harder to find. LOL.
1,000,000 is a HUGE number! What an accomplishment. Congratulations to All!
It is a privilege to be a member of such a resource filled site of professionals. Thanks Brad for all your hard work and congrats Brandon on the 1,000,000th post and getting your name and NC's in lights!!! Brandon. make sure you take advantage of all that Brad has given to you. These gifts may be the best thing to ever happen to your real estate career.
Brad - Congratulations!!! And Congratulations to all of us who have posted! AR is on the map baby - we are rockin!!
Thanks!
Kathy
WOW! A million of anything is a lot!!!
(except gov't spending)
Congrats!
your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
Very impressive... so is there a little counter somewhere on the AR website going round and round so that we know how many posts have been posted? Seriously, I looked for it, but couldn't find it.
This is great....congratulations to you from Portsmouth NH Real Estate. By the way when did AR first start??
Advise please.
Thanks,
Patricia AUlson/
Congratulations to Active Rain and all the Rainers! It is a great day in the Rain and were certainly have a lot to say!
Yes, AR is truly a force to be reckoned with, I'm very grateful to be part of it and for all of the great support and information I have received from fellow members.
Way to go Brandon!
AR is huge - way to go!
Congrats Brandon! And AR this community is growing by leaps and bounds.
Congratulations Brandon! Thanks Brad for sharing this milestone achievement with all of u, who helped make it possible. Looking at the prizes, made me think, "Only if I had started blogging sooner...It could have been me....
Looking forward to the next 1,000,000 posts....
WOW! Awesome milestone. So if 1,000,000 posts divided by 140,672 members is 7 blog posts per member and we all write one post per day for the next week we can hit 2,000,000 by April 2nd...let's do it!! ;-}
Wow. Imagine if we were all busy selling houses.
;)
Woo hoo - that's a whole lotta bloggin going on. Congrats to everyone who particiipated.
Brad - The "new text widget" shouldn't be a hint, it should be shouted from the mountain tops! Way to go on that one and a personal thanks for me. Of course that now means I have more work to do. Guess I better get to it.
What a cool milestone. You read alll those posts about hitting 10k and 50k, and then you read something that says 1,000,000th post, that has much more impact!
Wow! Congratulations to Active Rain, and congratulations to Brandon! It's amazing to me that when I mention Active Rain to agents there are still some who don't know about it or figure it is something new and untried. Some folks will always be behind the curve, I guess. As for me, I love Active Rain. I've made friends and learned so much.
Matt - you read my mind... probably my next post. I was just testing it out today. :-) Very Cool!!
We've all accomplished a lot here on AR, and what great sur"prizes" for Brandon.
We've all accomplished a lot here on AR, and what great sur"prizes" for Brandon.
I, too, congratulate you and everyone who contributed quality posts to help AR reach this incredible milestone.
Brad - I did notice that Google Analytics won't work as a text widget though. Was sad about that. Also, what tag should we use to center things in the sidebar? I've been trying to use everything I could think of, but nothing seems to work for me.
Matt - GA will most likely be a separate widget. Check out my OB, I did get quite a few working fine. MY OB.
We'll keep adding. Also requested the centering tag.
I'm only speculating that because you commented here on this post, you must be looking to be the first to have a million widgets?? LOL~ :-) just kidding... Call me later, I'll show you a couple things that might help.
Brad - I was thinking I want to be a) the 2,000,000th post, b) the 10,000,000th comment, c) the "I hit 100K in the shortest time ever" receipient. I just want some free prizes really. Maybe I could get one for the millionth mention of my iPhone envy (haha - my wife laughed at your "have her call me" comment).
Sweet, I wonder what my market share is :P
WOW! I am just now finding this post in the archives! Interesting that I totally missed it before--and I am ashamed to say that I don't know who Brandon is!! LOL I'm going to have to go check him out here in the Rain!
Hope you're doing well!
Hugs,
Debe - wow, you're laggin! lol~ Not sure Brandon is still blogging on AR or even in the business still. The investigation of "finding out about" Brandon might some great post fodder in and of itself... you know... like "Where's Waldo?" haha~
I'm doing well, thanks for the hope! Miss ya.... xoxoxoxoxo
