Fourth of July Weather is Calling for "Rains" Over Most US Cities
The national weather and climate control at ActiveRain is forecasting HUGE Rainstorms all across the country via the ActiveRain Community and Network. It's time to bring out your FireWORKS, or put them away. Sorry, this post almost started off sounding like some type of warning news or a sad attempt at a press release. ha-ha...
Over the past few years, we have tracked an increase/spike in traffic, particularly over the Fourth of July Weekend. We're looking for "Local Fourth of July" posts to feature over the next few days. If you have any events, parties, fireworks, concerts etc. in your local areas, we need your posts. We're looking for posts that are well written with hyper local content for your geographic areas. Keep in mind that consumers in your area are looking for this same stuff too. What better way to give them what they need and potentially lead them to your local Blogs.
As one of the most popular Holiday's draws closer, we thought this would be a great chance to give members a heads up so that Google will have some time to find your posts, featured or not. Here's one quick tip: One way to successfully do this is to make sure your Blog Post Title's include area specific location information, and that your first 1 or 2 sentences includes precise event or location details. As you know, when people search Google, results found are most often by their titles, and only the first sentence or two appears in the search results.
This is important in order to get found on Google and also, to get "keyword searchers" to click on YOUR links and read.

Brad, thank you. Just the push I needed as I was thinking about this for a few days. Off to write a post!
You must have been reading my mind!
Bremerton WA | Old Fashioned Fourth of July

Hey Jo,
Just looked up your post on Google for "bremerton wa 4th of july" and found it in the #2 spot - good work!
Jo - CONGRATS!!! WOW 3 hours later, VIOLA!! Nice job. :-))))
Hi Brad: I had not yet heard the forecast - what a downer!
:)
I was just planning such a post... get it up early tomorrow and see what happens...
Jon, thanks - it is amazing the power of AR!
Brad, Thanks
Matt - c'mon buddy, work with me here!! lol~
Ryan can't wait to see it. Thanks.
Jo - you're amazing!! :-))
Not in Los Angeles.
We're supposed to have amazing weather in the mid 70's over the weekend.
I can hardly wait to get out on the tennis courts...............
Ralph - great! Post about it, talk about the amazing weather and what you're going to be doing in it on the 4th of July!
We need some posts to feature about the Fourth of July in yours and other members areas.
Don't let the title of this post fool ya, gotta read the whole thing to really "Get The Gist "Fireworks" of it all. :-))
I already did one but I will beef it up and send it out again does that work? I will try it and see! Want to re do it anyway just not add the pictures again... that takes a lot of time....
Mine's up - can't wait to google tomorrow. My husband and I own the closest home to the 21st Bridge where we set the fireworks off, so we always have a BIG party. It is so cool that morning getting ready for the parties. All of our neighbors are mowing their yards, icing down beer -- the amazing calm before 80,000 guests transcend to our neighborhood. I love it!
OK, just did my google search, I am no 3 behind the local newspapers. Not bad, thank you Brad!
Brad - Who doesn't love fireworks, parades and concerts?
Happy 4th of July - Events & Happenings in MA
Have a safe and happy holiday.
Guys...
It is so nice of you to guide these 4th of July posts over to the Consumers. What a wonderful way to help The Members. I'm impressed :)
TLW...ROAR!
Sadly, I will have to make my own fireworks on the beach in Cabo San Lucas on the 4th. If my girlfriend does not kill me, I will do a 4th update from there. Probably while she is in the shower. I'm such a wuss.
I just commented on a 4th of July feature post that was in my backyard. Thanks for helping to get the word out!
Thanks Brad.....have been thinking about this same subject too...need to jump on it right away.
Great info Brad - we'll need to compare all the 4th of July events as they get posted! See what city has the most fun!
My posts are up and they are rising daily in the Google search!
Thank you Brad for all your insight as to how to build a better blog.
Have a happy and safe 4th!
Brad, I'll do my best. But, didn't our Canadian members do anything for Canada Day yesterday? Do they do fireworks?
Brad - great idea and thanks for the information. And you are right about posting before the 4th.
I was working on one yesterday to post today. I'll have to change it a little bit. I was going for tons of activities going on around Phoenix. Maybe I should narrow it down?
Brad- thanks for working on post for clueless brokers afraid of social media. We'll 'learn em' together!!
I need some good local posts here in Myrtle Beach, the family is undecided yet as to what we will be doing. Someone help me make the decision and you will be rewarded handsomely!
Thanks for reminding me. I've focused on six local cities, each with an individual post, then linked the posts together for a "menu" of events!
So how many readers thought you were referring to actual WEATHER? Another victim of the "skim and comment"....
Debra - the photos bring the post to life. It's worth the little extra time it takes to add them. People love pictures and are drawn into the posts that have them. Photos create stickiness.
Lori - nice job. Just remember that adding photos, images, graphics and links can drastically improve any post. I'd suggest adding one or two if you can, along with some links to more information regarding local stuff happening.
Judy - way to go! One suggestion... add some more information and content. Not enough keywords and content can leave Google and consumers hungry for more. Just my 2 cents.
TLW - I Hope you and the Big B have a great fourth, you know how much we love ya both!!
Joe - Fireworks in CABO? I'd be jealous if I didn't just return from Hawaii. lol~ Joe... don't be a wuss!! haha.. Just Write it!
Lee and Pamela - I can tell you right now which city has the most fun on the fourth.... :-))
Craig - saw you on Google and looks like someone featured your post. Congrats.
Gabe - good question for which I don't have an answer. We have to look out for our friends and members in Canada too.
Anna - there's no real rules, I was just giving a "suggestion tip" to try and help members get found. I think the key is to have a great title, very specific hyper-local geo content in the beginning, a couple great images or photos, some links to suggested sites or events, and then content, content, content.
Penny - the "skim and comment" will get them every-time. (That title placed this post pretty high on Google - lol~) Those who read and "get it" like yourself are handsomely rewarded with so much more than just 25 points for leaving a comment. Some will, some won't, oh well, at least we're trying here right? (Big Smile!)
Done and Done!
Got my Post done and am looking forward to my own spot on Google!
Now about that feature....
It's amazing. I move in and out of blogging and motivated some days and not others and yet you always seem to be full of ideas and enthusiasm! Don't know that I can pull something together, but those stats are motivating!
Hi Brad...Great Idea, as for the Weather, it's going to be Sunny and Hot in Victoria BC, you're all welcome to Join all the other Americans that come here on the 4th of July for their Holiday.
Cheers, thanks for sharing the idea:O)
Brad,
Thanks for this wonderful idea/reminder! Ocean City, Maryland has 2-3 Fireworks displays every 4th of July on this 10 mile long island!
Kathy Opatka
Ok, you got me moving - I have finally gotten mine done. Thanks! :)

Very good information and very good post. Now I know what to post on when I get to it tonight.
Brad, thanks for continuing to educate and inform all of us on AR. Thanks for reminding us of the importance of word placement and blog titles. Happy Fourth!
I read all the way thru the post and then you ask why I am still there? I thought that it would be nice to at least know what I was commenting on. Now I am off to write my 4th of July post. Have a GREAT 4th yourself. Keep it safe my friend.

There are some really smart people on AR. Thanks for sharing
I just got this really nice email from another member and wanted to share it. Thanks John. :-)
"The first thing I did when I awoke this morning was hit a google search engine with "what's happening in Leucadia on the 4th of July?" Our blog popped up at the top. I tried a few other tags and walla still at the top. Boy were you ever spot on about optimization and timing for special events. I've already passed it along to my friends at our little Coast News publication and YELP San Diego, a local blog. Thanks again."
John
ActiveRainers: I just wanted to add that it doesn't have to be 4th of July to make this happen with every post you write. I just used Independence Day as a way to show the power of AR and YOUR Blogs here. Google doesn't care what day it is, they just want well written content formatted in a certain way, and this post demonstrates a couple key things to know in making this all work for you.
Take this lesson and learning experience with you for the rest of your Blogging days.
Now go have a great and safe 4th of July weekend. :-))
It hasn't rained in like 2 months in Houston. The usual fire work wars will have to wait until New Years. Instead we're going to play hide n' seek with the neighbors.
Brad,
Thank you for the tips. I will keep them in mind for future posts.
Just popped over here from your other post. Love localism blogging for agents. That is where the success stories come from.
Brad,
This is great info. Thank you so much for all your ideas. Do you sleep?
Ann Hayden in lovely Wildwood, Missouri
It's amazing what you can do in the rain! Non stop fireworks!
Lizette - YES! We're hoping for year-round fireworks here in the "rain!" :-)
Brad, are you a Google junkie? lol I'm beginning to get it!
Sharon
Thanks again for the tips, Brad!
K, posts like this one are prime examples of why I follow your stuff, Brad, and why I love AR so much.
I immediately posted a blog about the Fourth of July stuff in Asheboro, NC. I posted to AR, Localism, and I have a Wordpress blog as well.
Here's hoping for great results!
Thanks so much for your valuable advice.

Friend me on Facebook!
That's a great idea Brad. Thanks for the post.
It wouldn't feel like the fourth of July if it didn't rain that day here in south Florida. Hoping for the best!
Marco - thanks for the comment, I had almost forgotten that I wrote this two years ago. I had to re-read it to see what I wrote. After doing so, I stand behind these traffic stats and encourage folks to create content about local events and holidays if they want additional exposure that's being sought out by the neighbors and community.
Brad- love the 4th and anything that is spectacular, like your work....
will subscribe to your blogs. I am a newbie
